We had to put Stout down on Monday night. Apparently while we were on vacation in New York (Dorene was watching him) he started having difficulty walking (Saturday), we thought that maybe he had a pinched nerve or hurt back leg, no biggie. We told her to give him a rimadyl on Sunday, which didn’t help. Also Sunday he stopped eating which was VERY rare for him. He did try to eat a little that evening and started choking which freaked Dorene out so she took him to the Emergency clinic, they ran a bunch of tests and eliminated everything physical so they came to the conclusion that it was neurological, maybe brain cancer. Monday she took him to a friend who is a vet (Andrea Webb) and he progressively got worse, his organs were shutting down. They kept him comfortable until we flew in late Monday night so we could say our goodbyes. He died in our arms just where he would have wanted to be. He had just had his last chemo treatment a couple of weeks ago so we thought he was in the clear for at least a year or so, we were not prepared for this!!!! Luis and I (Skitz & Jace also) are heartbroken and have trouble talking about it so if we don’t take your calls please be patient with us.
